Biography
Jianbo Xiao is Full Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Food Science, Faculty of Science, University of Vigo, Spain, and distinguished professor at Universidad Europea del Atlántico.
He received his PhD in Nutrition from Okayama Prefectural University, Japan, in 2009. He later worked as an Alexander von Humboldt-supported postdoctoral researcher at the University of Würzburg, Germany, and as assistant professor at the University of Macau.
Professor Xiao has published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals and has accumulated around 52,000 Google Scholar citations with an h-index of 115.
He is an expert reviewer for several international funding bodies and research foundations, including the European Science Foundation, the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research, the Natural Science Foundation of China, and agencies in the United Kingdom, Poland, Kazakhstan and Croatia.
He is founding editor of Food Frontiers, eFood, Food Safety and Health, and Future Postharvest and Food; former Editor-in-Chief of Human Nutrition & Metabolism; Associate Editor of several international journals; and editorial board member of leading journals in food science, phytochemistry and nutrition.
